Why Voidfocal?

I am obsessed with the art of photography and its power to immortalise moments, capture beauty, and impact people. I keep my shoots simple, fun and collaborative. For me, photography is the act of composing chaos into beauty. Bringing the void into focus.

My approach is pretty laissez-faire, often opting to adapt to the environment and the dynamic of each couple rather than force a certain routine or setup. I believe that a good photo can be made (mostly) anywhere, and of anyone :)

Debussy once said that “Music is the space between the notes”. If that is true, then photography is the darkness between the light, the parts not in focus. It is shadow that gives light its shape, and blur that brings subjects into sharp focus.

The name Voidfocal is an homage to this philosophy, an understanding of the constant interplay between the light and dark, what is seen and what is unseen. It represents an intentional approach to pushing the boundaries of the craft, and a different perspective on the art of photography.
